Sport: Nicolo Barella Is Best Young Player In Italy
The report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera has suggested that Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella is the best young player of the season.
The report details how the 23-year-old Italian, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, impressed coach Antonio Conte immediately after arriving from Cagliari in the summer. The player quickly become a core part of Conte’s tactical system and shortly after the start of the season became a regular in Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad as well.
Barella has made 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2036 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and provided six assists, showing an ability to score from outside the box. He suffered a knee injury earlier this season, which forced him to miss six games, but he quickly bounced back and returned to being a regular player in the starting 11.
